Tis the season to make your house gloriously beautiful!
It takes a lot of time to do some heavy cleaning to get it ready for the season. Here are a few things that might help your clean your house more easily:
MORE APPEALING VEGETABLES AND PRODUCE DRAWERS? Line your produce drawers with paper towels. They will help to absorb the moisture that causes your vegetables to rot. It takes very little time to clean the drawers with the paper towels.
LOOK AT THAT MICROWAVE! So many fingerprints and stains from bubbling food – to easily clean this mess, wet two or three paper towels and nuke them for 3 minutes. The steam from the paper towels will soften the grime. Be careful when taking the paper towels out of the microwave, they will be hot. When they cool down, use them to wipe the oven’s interior. Voila!!
DEFOGGING THE MIRRORS IN THE BATHROOM – Wipe some shaving cream on your mirrors in the bathroom and then wipe them clean to keep them from fogging up.
DO YOUR SHOWER CURTAIN LINERS LOOK GROSS? Soap scum makes your curtains look horrible. To clean them, put them in the washer with a couple of full-sized towels, add ½ cup of vinegar and ½ cup of baking soda and wash with a gentle cycle. When you take them out of the washer, be careful to let the water drain off of them and hang them back up in the shower to dry.
OH NO! COMPANY’S COMING AND THE DRAIN’S CLOGGED UP. Quick, combine ¼ cup of baking soda, ¼ cup table salt and 2 Tbl. Cream of tartar. Stir the ingredients together thoroughly and pour into the drain immediately. Add 1 cup of boiling water. Wait a few seconds and then flush with cold water. If you do this weekly, you can keep your drain clog-free.
SPARKLE UP YOUR STAINLESS APPLIANCES. There is no need to buy expensive stainless steel cleaners. Wipe a thin coat of car wax to your fridge, stove or other appliance and buff clean.
REPEL THAT DUST. Mix 1-2 Tbl. Of liquid fabric softener with ½ cup of water. Apply to furniture with a clean soft cloth and dry with another clean cloth.
YOU DON’T HAVE TIME TO RUN TO THE STORE FOR AN ALL PURPOSE CLEANER. You can mix up your own. Use ½ gallon of hot water, ½ Tbl. Of baking soda and 1 Tbl. Of dish soap. Pour it in a spray bottle and away you go.
DOES YOUR WASHER NEED WASHING? If you notice a weird smell in your washer, fill it with water and 2 cups of white vinegar. Let sit for an hour and then run the washing machine and allow it to go through the washing cycle.
DO YOU HAVE TARNISHED COPPER PANS? This is an easy-peasy thing to do. Take some ketchup and put some on a clean cloth and rub your copper ware with it. It should shine.
